Draw a design on your fabric with pencil. Use fine lines so the dye will cover it after the design is painted.
Warm the wax, taking care not to bring it to a boil, and paint your design. Take care to ensure that the wax seeps through the fabric and does not just sit on top.
Prepare the dye bath according to instructions on dye kit. Dip your fabric and leave in the dye until desired color is achieved. (You can test this on fabric scraps if desired.)
Remove the fabric from the dye bath, rinse it in tepid water and allow it to dry hanging, out of direct sunlight.
Once dry, place paper towels on either side of your design and iron it to remove wax. Repeat until all wax has been removed.
Place the dowel rod and hot glue a fold of the fabric over the rod.
