Cardamom Ice Cream

  • one (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 vanilla bean, seeds only
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom
  • 2 cups heavy cream

Poached Figs

  • 2 cups moscato
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 strip orange peel
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 star anise
  • 3 slices ginger
  • 10 large figs

Cardamom Ice Cream

  1. Whisk together condensed milk, vanilla, vanilla beans and cardamom. Beat cream until stiff peaks. Fold the whipped cream into condensed milk mixture and freeze in a loaf pan overnight.

Poached Figs

  1. Add everything except the figs to a medium sauce and simmer, covered, for 1/2 hour.
  2. Add the figs and simmer for 10-15 minute cover and cool. Serve figs with ice cream.
